Welcome to the Gunnison Angling Society (GAS) Blog. We are the Gunnison Chapter of Trout Unlimited (TU). Our chapter was founded in Gunnison, Colorado, on December 5, 1969. We are a relatively small chapter in the Rocky Mountains with about 130 members, some of whom are from outside the state of Colorado. Our local members are mostly residents of Gunnison, Almont and Crested Butte. We have been an active chapter and have several special events and activities over the course of the year. We have won awards from Colorado Trout Unlimited for some of our previous projects related to conservation here in the Gunnison Valley.

Superfly is the main fundraiser for Gunnison TU. We hold this contest on the first weekend after Labor Day at The Almont Resort. Money raised with Superfly helps fund youth education in Colorado via our GAS Scholarship Fund established in early 2010. The fund provides financial support for the annual Colorado TU Youth Conservation and Fly Fishing Camp. Our contributions will help to further develop the camp and provide scholarships for students.
